Waringstown have confirmed the signing of CSNI and Northern Knights opening bowler Matthew Foster.

The 25-year-old has been at the Stormont side since making his debut as a teenager back in 2016.
In 134 senior appearances, he has taken 178 wickets at 23.13, including two five-wicket hauls, with his best-bowling effort of 5-19 coming against Derriaghy in 2023.
Foster has been included in Ireland squads previously, having been awarded a short-term contract, but has yet to feature. Indeed, he and five others were told last week that their deals weren't being extended this year due to financial constraints.
He is spending the winter playing club cricket in Adelaide, but has been asked to make himself available for selection if required.
“It’s nice for all parties to get everything sorted nice and early, and before I head off to Australia at the end of September," Foster told the Waringstown website.
"When I come back from Australia I can hit the ground running.
“I know a lot of the Waringstown guys from interpros and from playing against them over the last ten years. I know that I’m going to fit in the group well.
"From talking to Greg (Thompson), and Nelly (Lee Nelson), what they have planned is really exciting and I’m really looking forward to being part of that. There’s also the indoor school coming and the 175th anniversary of the club next year.”
Waringstown are also in negotiations to secure a new overseas professional for the 2026 season, and hope to be in a position to announce his signing in the coming weeks.
