Leinster set up a final day shoot-out against Pembroke with a convincing seven-wicket victory over a Clontarf side that had started the day at the top of the table.

The Castle Avenue side were rocked by the loss of three wickets inside the first ten balls, but recovered initially as David Delany (41) and John McNally (34) added 60 for the fourth wicket.

Jai Moondra (3-49) was the bowler who made the early breakthroughs, but it was Saqib Bahadur (4-8) that left Clontarf's innings in tatters as they slumped to 121 all out inside 30 overs.

Ben Mitchell went early in the chase, but Monil Patel's 47 (4 fours, 2 sixes) saw him and Tom Johnson (24) steady the ship with a second wicket stand of 78 that all but ensured victory - Gareth Delany (23*) applying the fatal late blows in a surprisingly one-sided affair.

Pembroke showed the hallmark of champions as they recovered from a seemingly desperate position to keep alive their title hopes with a two-wicket win at home to Merrion. John Anderson's even-time 78 (8 fours) helped his team to 236 for 8 - runs too for Jamie Forbes (35) and Seb Dikstra (33). The Ireland youth international then took three wickets as Pembroke were reduced to 169 for 8. Ollie Riley (36*) and Paul Lawson (35*) then produced a superb 9th wicket stand of 69 that sealed the win in the penultimate over that sets up Monday's winner-takes-all clash with Leinster.

Quickest result of the day was at Phoenix Park where the home side steamrollered Railway Union. Ashil Prakash (31) was the sole resistance in a Railway total of just 108 - five wickets for Rory MacColl and three for James Maginnis. The chase was a brutal one as the modest target was knocked off in just 10 overs, Eknoor Singh hit 13 fours and 2 sixes in a 37-ball unbeaten 71, while Shane Getkate was content to play second fiddle, although he was certainly no slouch in making 39 not out from 25 balls ( 6 fours, 1 six) in a game that had end of season written all over it.
