Clontarf broke northern hearts beating Lisburn and Bready in back-to-back matches to win the Under-17 girls All-Ireland Cup at Magheramason.
Genevieve Morrissey was the batting hero for the Leinster champions, hitting half centuries in both games to bring the trophy back to Castle Avenue.
Spare a thought for Lisburn, who came agonizingly close in the semi-final, losing by just one run in a real thriller.
Chasing 120, Rebecca Lowe (42) looked to be steering them to victory before Aoibheann Synnott struck three times in quick succession to leave Lisburn needing eight from the last over.
They managed six, with the last three balls seeing a hat-trick of run-outs as the batters attempted suicidal second runs. Their kamikaze running didn’t succeed and Clontarf went forward to meet Bready in the final.
Morrissey (66) was in the runs again, and despite four wickets from Jodie Spence, Clontarf posted 144.
That proved 49 too many for Bready, bowled out for 95 with three wickets for Hannah Lee, and two apiece for Ava O'Reilly, Katie O'Toole and Aoibheann Synnott.
