Woodvale stunned four-times winners Donemana to claim their first Ulster Plate with a convincing six-wicket win at The Holm.
Ashwin Shetty’s new-ball burst had Donemana on the back foot from the outset, with the all-rounder accounting for Mark Moore, Ryan McClintock, Oli Britton and Roy McGerrigle to stun the sizeable home support as the scoreboard read 16 for four.
The experienced Paul Robinson then got in on the act as Dean Mehaffey (20) and Joe Robinson (10) fell to his wiles.
Home skipper Graham Boyd and Tom Riddles set about salvaging the innings, with Boyd hitting six boundaries in an even time 46. Their seventh wicket stand of 61 more than doubled the score, altering the momentum of the innings.
Riddles did well to marshall the tail, top-scoring with a hard-hit 74 from 64 deliveries (five fours, four sixes) to take the hosts to 188 all out in the 36th over.
Shetty finished with four wickets for 26, while Matthew Peak and Paul Robinson claimed three apiece in an excellent effort by the Belfast side.
The chase saw Ritchie McBrine claim a wicket in the first over, but Zarar Khan made a counter-attacking 26 to restore the initiative, before he too fell to McBrine.
Jamie Gibson retired hurt on just one, quickly followed by Joe Robinson trapping namesake Paul lbw, and at effectively 62 for four, the tie was very much in the balance.
James Rose and Shetty decided attack was the way to go and soon had the ball sailing to all parts of the compact County Tyrone venue.
James Rose was named Man of the Match for his match-wining innings
Man of the match Rose hit 15 fours and two maximums as he top-scored with an 84-ball unbeaten 91, adding 81 in nine overs with Shetty, who cleared the river three times in a 30-ball 41.
Although Shetty fell to Dean Mehaffey trying to hit the third six of the over, Woodvale eased to victory in just the 29th over thanks to a clinical all-round effort,
