Cameron Melly upstaged Paul Stirling to give Brigade pole position in the NW Premiership title race as they chased 282 to win by four wickets at The Holm.

Ireland captain Stirling had made 88 from 53 balls (8 fours, 7 sixes) on his Donemana debut as they reached 137 for 1 in the 18th over. His dismissal - well caught by Andy Britton at long-off from Scott Macbeth's bowling altered the complexion of the innings.

The spinning triumvirate of Macbeth (3-39), DD Barr (3-44) and Ifty Hussain (2-21) took a combined 8-104 in 30 overs as too many poor across the line shots from the home side threw away their advantage.

Andy McBrine (65) and Dwayne McGerrigle rallied the lower order from 188-7 to 282 all out.

A decent score but Brigade soon ate into in it with runs for DD Barr (47) and ifty Hussain (95). Donemana were on the ropes and Cameron Melly delivered the knock-out blows as he hit 10 sixes and 5 fours in a 44-ball unbeaten 87.

It's now Brigade's title to lose. Quite a turnaround from early season when they lost three of their first five matches to be languishing in mid-table.

John Mooney guided Strabane home as they beat Bready by two wickets in a tense chase.

Needing 171, Strabane just about got there with Mooney's unbeaten 38 and 22 from Rhys Logue their main contributions. They were helped too by Bready's wastefulness in conceding 49 extras - 39 of them wides or no-balls - and when you do that you can't expect or indeed deserve to win.

Replacement professional Shaun von Berg (3-22) and Gavin Roulston (2-24) were the pick of the Bready attack. Earlier, Kyle Magee top-scored with 47, skipper Ian Young made 33, and there was 29 apiece from Roulston and Von Berg.

The Strabane bowlers shared the wickets with two each for Mark McNulty, Ranjitha, TJ Boyd, and John Mooney. Strabane have a crunch match next week at Eglinton where a win could go a long way to ensuring Premiership survival.

Scott Campbell hit an unbeaten 153 from 141 balls (11 fours, 10 sixes) in a superb knock that inspired Coleraine to a thumping 170-run win over Eglinton.

'Soupy' shared stands of 156 with Louren Steenkamp (82) and 116 with David Cooke (50*) in a whopping 317 for 2.

Eglinton's chase never got going as they were bowled out for 170, with Andy Millar (40). Lakshan Gamage (35) and Ross Mclaughlin (29) their main scorers.

Campbell (2-17) and Matthew Hutchinson (2-29) were best with the ball for the Bannsiders who stay fourth.

Eglinton's destiny is now out of their own hands, but with matches still to play against fellow strugglers Strabane and Ardmore there is still a chance for them to avoid the automatic relegation slot.

Peat Salmon bowled Newbuildings to a five-wicket win at Ardmore with the West Indian international wreaking havoc among the home batters.

Ardmore had looked settled in reaching 100 for 2 with runs for Junaid Ali (42) and Bobby Brolly (35) but Samon's introduction changed all that.

He made the home batsmen look like rabbits in headlights taking 7 for 8 as they slumped to 137 all out.

Salmon (38), Gareth McKeegan (37) and Ross Dougherty (23*) then made sure that the chase was a successful one.

Two wickets apiece for the Brolly brothers meant two points for Ardmore - everyone potentially vital as the relegation battle enters its final phase.
