Tuesday saw a really good day of cricket across the four venues as the NWCU under-15 Blast got underway.
Eglinton and Bready set the pace after Day 1- the villagers beating St Johnston by 6 wickets in their morning game with Tyler Averill making 32 and Tom Spratt 27 after Neelansh (39) and Sean McAnneny (38) had helped the Saints to a total of 124-6.
Tyler top scored again with 37 in the afternoon game as Eglinton beat Fox Lodge by 13 runs; Kyle Lamrock with 4 wickets and Harry Coyle 3, sealing the points there.
Cameron McClay had an excellent day for Bready- he made 52 as the Magheramason side won by 7 wickets at Donemana after Roy McGerrigle had hit 52 for the home side.
Bobby Moore made 42* and Cameron 38 as Bready made it two from two against Bonds Glen. Chasing a huge 164-4, the Bee Gees made a real fist of it- Kalvin Diver with 37 and Isaac Beck 24 as they posted 115-4 in reply.
Bonds Glen had earlier chased down Ardmore's 80-8 with Adam Thompson and Isaac Beck among the runs in a 10-wicket victory. Albert Martin top scored for the Bleachgreen side with 34 while Jack Morrow claimed 5 wickets for the Glen.
Fox Lodge beat Ballyspallen by 14 runs earlier in the day with Ben Heywood making 40 in a total of 120-3. Thomas Ferguson and Harry McNerlin both scored 35 for 'Spallen, but they came up just short in reply.
The same two players were in the runs again against St Johnston in the later game- Thomas with 52* and Harry 50* in a total of 134-3. Unfortunately they had been chasing the Saints 162-3 - Neelansh again in the runs with 52* and David Sabinda 51* as the Donegal side won by 28 runs.
Still all to play for tomorrow and it looks like a fascinating day in store.
