ROBINSON DELIGHT AS FOX LODGE COLLECT ERIC COOKE CUP

Fox Lodge collected their first silverware of the season after a 21-run win against Coleraine in a high-scoring game. They posted 225 thanks to Gayan Maneeshan and Jason Milligan, while Aaron Heywood bowled superbly, allowing Ali Doherty and Levi Kerr to claim a combined seven wickets.

“It was a fantastic game of cricket and I'm really proud of the lads,” said Robinson. “Everyone played their part, but that partnership between Gayan and Jason was the turning point. To put on 126 in just 10 overs was phenomenal and gave us the platform we needed. Gayan’s been superb for us all season, and he showed real class again. He paced the innings perfectly and backed it up in the field. He’s been a massive asset both on and off the pitch.

“Credit to our bowlers and fielders for holding their nerve. Coleraine came at us hard, and Patrick Carson really took the game on. But the lads stuck at it. Ali Doherty was outstanding with the ball, and Levi Kerr came in fired up and picked up some massive breakthroughs. The catching was top drawer as well - Gayan's running grab and Boydo's stunner were real game-changers.

“One spell that really stood out was Aaron Heywood's. To go for just nine runs in his four overs when everyone else on both sides was going the distance was something special. It gave us real control at a key stage of the game.

“Full credit to Bonds Glen as well. The pitch was top class and the shorter boundaries made it a great spectacle for a T20 final.”
