Glendermott are set to lift the Sammy Jeffrey Shield on Saturday unless Ballyspallen make the greatest comeback since Lazarus after trailing by 238 runs on the first innings at The Rectory.
Batting first, the Glendermott opening pair of Ben Mills and Craig Doherty set the tone for the day with an opening stand of 157.
Both cleared the ropes seven times - 14 of the 39 sixes by the Rectory side to go with 21 fours that made 318 in boundaries - with Mills also hitting seven fours in a 60-ball 82, while Doherty made a 56-ball 70.
The pair fell in quick succession, but if Ballyspallen thought they had a foothold in the contest, that was quickly ended by another substantial partnership.
Geeth Kumara bludgeoned 18 sixes and 8 fours in an unbeaten 189 from 112 balls, adding 189 for the fourth wicket with skipper Alan Johnson 69 (3 fours, 6 sixes) as Glendermott posted a mammoth 446 for 5.
There weren't many 'Spallen bowlers rushing to check the scorecard at the break with Eddie Moore (2-70) and Stephen Kennedy (1-31 off 8) escaping the worst of the carnage.
Kennedy went third ball of the reply, but Isaac Bird (71) and South African Test player Moore (63) gave their supporters some cheer in a second wicket partnership of 133.
However, Kumara and Mills followed up their batting heroics by taking four wickets apiece as the visitors were bundled out for 208.
Glendermott may opt to bat again rather than chase, but whatever option they choose, the 'GCC' will surely be celebrating later today.
