BUSY WEEKEND AHEAD AFTER PREMIERSHIP WASHOUT
All four Premiership matches fell victim to the weather last Saturday, with only the Bready versus Eglinton game making it onto the park at all. The Magheramason side were struggling at 34 for 2 in 11 overs, and perhaps will have been pleased that the rain arrived to bring the game to an early conclusion.
All four Championship fixtures got the green light and saw two wins for Killyclooney, as well as St Johnston and Glendermott.
On Friday, the Sammy Jeffrey final between Glendermott and Ballyspallen starts at The Rectory, while the Eric Cooke final between Coleraine and Fox Lodge is at Bonds Glen (6.30pm).
There's also a decider in the U15 Boy's Cup with Bready hosting Donemana in an all-Tyrone clash.
It’s potentially a huge weekend in the title race with the top two meeting at the Foyleview Arena as second-placed Newbuildings host leaders Donemana with just 20 points separating the sides. It is of course a dress rehearsal for next week’s cup final and on present form there isn’t much between the teams.
The other matches on Saturday have Bready entertaining Ardmore, Strabane hosting Coleraine, while Eglinton travel to Brigade.
Three of the four washed out games are set for Sunday, so it’s take two for Bready v Eglinton, Strabane v Donemana and Newbuildings v Brigade.
We should certainly have a clearer picture of just who will be champions on Sunday night.
There are just two matches in the Championship as Fox Lodge travel to Bonds Glen, while second-placed St Johnston are at bottom side Burndennett.
