Craig Wright will leave the governing body later this year, to take up the position of General Manager of the Hong Kong
Cricket Club.

Craig’s involvement in and contributions to Scottish cricket extend back thirty-five years, when he first played for Scotland U16. As a senior player he represented Scotland 195 times between 1997 and 2009, captaining the men’s side on 108 occasions. He later served as Cricket Scotland’s Performance Development Manager, interim Men’s Head Coach, Head of Elite Player Development and latterly as Men’s Assistant Coach.
Prior to his return to the governing body in 2021, Craig spent two years as Head Coach of the Hong Kong Cricket Club. He now returns there with the best wishes of everyone at Cricket Scotland. Craig will conclude his time with Cricket Scotland following the men’s tour to Canada in August and September, which forms part of the ICC CWCL2 series.
Steve Snell, Cricket Scotland Head of Performance, said: “We are sad to lose Craig’s significant expertise, which he has provided to Scottish cricket over a long period of time in both a playing and coaching capacity. However, we recognise that the opportunity he has received to move into a very broad and challenging role at such a prestigious organisation is an exciting one.
“On behalf of everyone at Cricket Scotland, I’d like to thank Craig for his work and efforts during his time here. We wish him well in his future endeavours in Hong Kong, and he will always be welcome back at Cricket Scotland.”
