IRELAND OVER 40’S NAME SQUAD FOR TRIPLE CROWN
Ireland Over 40’s will be aiming to go one step further and claim the Triple Crown title in Scotland next week, after finishing second in the Quadrangular tournament last year.
John Anderson once again skippers the 13-man squad that has four potential debutants, as well as a number of established stars.
They open the tournament against hosts Scotland at Stirling on July 29th, followed by a clash with competition favourites England, before ending against Wales.
“Veterans Cricket continues to grow in Ireland and with the Triple crown coming up we are delighted to add four new debutants to the trip,” said Team Manager Greg Molins.
“Bilal Azhar, Andrew Leonard, Vikas Dhiman and Ross Durity have a lot of quality, and a variety of skill-sets that will serve the squad well.
“As a group we are very much looking forward to the second edition of the tournament hoping to do one step better and clinch the title.”
Alan Lewis is once again the Head Coach of Ireland, while scorer Peter Searson completes the support staff alongside Molins.
