George Dockrell was again the hero in the final as he made it back-to-back hundreds to help Phoenix squeeze out Leinster by five runs in a real thriller.

Dockrell showed no mercy on his old Rathmines team-mates as he helped Phoenix recover from 29 for 3 and 104 for 7 to post 178. His unbeaten 114 came from only 54 balls and included 11 sixes and 6 fours.

He plundered 74 in the last four overs and that was to prove the difference in a tight contest.

Younas Ahmadzai (61) and Ben Mitchell (39) put on 68 in the powerplay, but Phoenix's triumvirate of spinners bounced back with three wickets for Dockrell and two apiece for Ben White and Amish Sidhu.

It all came down to the last over with six needed from the last three balls. Joey Carroll (28) holed out and Bilal Azhar was run out the next ball trying to get on strike to give Phoenix the five-run win.

They will represent Leinster in the All-Ireland semi-finals next month, with the winners of that tournament going on to Spain for a week next April.

Earlier, in the first semi-final, George Dockrell scored an unbeaten 101 as Phoenix got the better of The Hills in match where 446 runs were scored for the loss of only eight wickets.

The Irish international's 101 came from only 41 balls and included 12 sixes and 4 fours.

In total, Phoenix hit 20 sixes - Tyrone Kane clearing the ropes seven times in a 45-ball 89 as Phoenix made 231 for 4.

An incredible 76 came in the last three overs of mayhem, but to be fair to The Hills, they made a right go of the chase. Oliver Horlock 73 (7 fours, 4 sixes) and Nathan Rooney 67 (5 fours, 4 sixes) both scored half centuries, while Muzamil Sherzad hit four sixes in a rapid 39. Despite their efforts they ended on 215.

Tom Johnson's half century and four wickets for Jai Moondra ensured Leinster beat Malahide to reach the final.

Johnson top-scored with 66 (7 fours, 3 sixes) as he and Joey Carroll (33) added 84 in 8 overs for the fourth wicket to take them to 164 for 6.

Jeremy Martins hit ten fours in a well-made 69, but didn't get much support as Malahide were bowled out for 143. Moondra took 4 for 27, while there were three for Saqib Bahadur and two for Ben Mitchell.
