Almost four months after they were given, Cricket Ireland finally confirmed player contracts, with PJ Moor and James McCollum omitted. 

The duo have been labelled 'red-ball specialists' and given the complete absence of the format in the Irish home summer, it's perhaps understandable that they have been deemed surplus to requirements. 

Stephen Doheny, Matthew Foster and Fionn Hand have been downgraded to part-time deals, while as reported two months ago, Tom Mayes hasn't been given a retainer contract this time around.

Jordan Neill and Cade Carmichael are also nowhere to be seen despite making their debuts in the recent West Indies ODI series, while Tim Tector, who played in the T20I series isn't among the 23 players named.

There are 11 full-time women's contracts awarded, plus nine educational and five on a casual contract basis.

Ireland Women start their summer campaign next month against Zimbabwe.
