CRUCIAL WEEKEND FOR DONEMANA
It’s a potentially season-defining weekend looming on the horizon for Donemana, who have a Senior Cup semi-final at Brigade on Saturday, followed by a trip to Balbriggan in the last eight of the Irish Senior Cup.
They go into the clashes full of confidence having made it four wins from four with a seven-wicket victory at Ardmore.
“It was another brilliant win against Ardmore as we continued our unbeaten start in the league this season, improving every game,” said skipper Gary McClintock.
“We were missing my brother William for that match as well but he should be back for the weekend which is a massive boost. The tie against Brigade is the hardest draw we could have got but you have to beat the best to win the cup so it doesn’t make a difference when you play Brigade.
“We know exactly how good they are and how good we have to be to beat them, so it should be a cracker of a match.
“The match at Balbriggan will tell us exactly where we are on Sunday evening, but we’re all feeling positive and these are the positions you want to be in as a team.
“We will be going to Dublin again with absolutely no fear. We have nothing to lose and be giving everything the same as we have done in the other two games in this competition. It's certainly a huge weekend for the club.
“There’s an extra motivation in the Donemana camp, as sadly our club had a massive loss last week in Roy McBrine, and we will do everything to bring a cup back to The Holm for that man.”
