To say that this visit of Netherlands and Nepal to Scotland has had its fair share of thrillers would be an understatement. After three close run finishes in the ODI tri-series in Dundee, the two visiting sides were back at it again today in Glasgow as no fewer than THREE super overs were needed to separate the two touring teams.

Nepal captain Rohit Paudel won the toss at Titwood and elected to bowl first, and his bowlers prevented Netherlands from running away with things with only Vikramjit Singh (30) and Teja Nidamanru (35) making any scores of note. Sandeep Lamichhane was the pick of the Nepali bowlers with 3-18.

Kushal Bhurtel (34) led the way early on for Nepal, sharing in a 43 run partnership for the third wicket with his captain. Paudel then held up an end as wickets fell around him, with Daniel Doram taking three wickets for just six runs in his first three overs.

Doram's figures were spoiled by the 18th over which went for eight runs, but with Nepal needing 31 from the last two overs with four wickets in hand, many would have been expecting a Dutch victory. But it's a brave man who bets against Nepal pulling off the remarkable, and they almost did.

Karan KC and Rohit Paudel were both dismissed in the 19th over but crucially 15 runs came from it. Kyle Klein was chosen to bowl the last. Lamichhane scored three from the first two balls before Nandan Yadav hit a four to get Nepal within nine of their target. Two twos came from the next balls, before Yadav hit another four to tie the scores.

Ties aren't allowed to stand in limited overs internationals these days though, so to a super over we went. Daniel Doram was chosen to bowl the over for the Dutch and came in for some punishment, conceding 19 including two sixes.

Karan KC bowled the super over for Nepal, with Michael Levitt hitting the first ball for six. A dot came from the next ball, followed by a bye and two runs to O'Dowd. The next ball went for six, before O'Dowd hit a four to tie the super over.

The Dutch batted first in the second super over, with O'Dowd staying out there and Scott Edwards joining him. Edwards and O'Dowd each hit a six during the first three balls of the over - bowled by Lalit Rajbanshi - with a wide coming from the next ball. Things settled down in the second half of the over with three runs and a wicket taking the score to 17-1.

Kyle Klein bowled the second super over for the Dutch, with Rohit Paudel hitting the first ball for a six and taking a single from the next. Dipendra Singh Airee hit a four from the third ball before Klein pegged things back with two dots. But the game wasn't done as Airee hit the last ball of the over for six to once again tie the super over.

So to a - so far as I can tell - a first ever third super over. Zach Lion-Cachet was the man chosen to bowl for the Dutch this time and he dismissed both Rohit Paudel and Rupesh Singh without scoring. Michael Levitt then hit the first ball by Sandeep Lamichhane for six to finally settle what has to be the closest T20I ever.
