Coleraine and Donemana, the North West’s last two representatives in the Irish Cup, have opened up a significant early advantage in the Premiership after recording their third victories. The other teams have already lost two.

Coleraine have a three points lead following their 75 runs win over Ardmore, based on a century opening stand between Craig Averill and Patrick Carson.

Donemana needed only two thirds of their 42 overs to pass Strabane’s 196 with William McClintock hitting 40 of the last 50 runs, in an unbroken fifth wicket stand with Andy McBrine. McClintock faced just 16 balls and hit five sixes.

Lakshan Gamage and Andy Lucas both scored half-centuries in Eglinton’s 57 runs (DLS) win over Bready and Newbuildings beat Brigade in what could be a dress rehearsal for the Senior Cup final by 41 runs at Beechgrove. Ross Dougherty was the day’s top scorer with 90 in the visitors 166 all out.
