Newbuildings ensured their FV semi-final berth as they made light of a target of 159 in 18 overs to win with more than three overs to spare. Ross Dougherty got the chase off to a fast start with a 26-ball half century (7 fours, 2 sixes), and a third wicket stand of 88 between Ryan Hunter (47*) and Peat Salmon (45*) - both of whom hit five sixes - saw the hosts romp home. Earlier, Bready openers Gavin Roulston (79) and David Rankin (57) shared an opening stand of 141, but hopes of a strong finish were dashed by Ross Hunter, who took five wickets for 26 - four in the final over that also contained a hat-trick.
Ali Doherty thumped 8 fours and 5 sixes in a 44-ball 75 that gave Fox Lodge a chance of securing top spot in Group D, but although they won the battle, they lost the war as Newbuildings victory ensured their progress to the Faughan Valley Cup. Glendermott had made 120 for 7 with skipper Alan Johnson making 40 (3 fours, 3 sixes) before becoming the first of four run-outs. Leyland McElwee hit an unbeaten 24, but the modest target proved nowhere near enough after Doherty's blitzkrieg.
James Smallwoods and Josh Wilson scored vital boundaries in the final over as Brigade once again showed their depth in getting the 11 runs they needed from the final over to deny Coleraine. The Bannsiders made 149 for seven with South African professional Louren Steenkamp hitting 5 fours and sixes in a 41-ball 74, while Patrick Carson made 29. Ifty Hussain took three wickets and it was he who top-scored for the visitors with 42 (5 fours, 2 sixes). Three wickets for Rory Knox and two for Stephen Hutchinson put Coleraine on top as the holders looked to be bowing out, but Brigade had other ideas to make the journey back to the Waterside an enjoyable one.
The game between Bonds Glen and Burndennett didn't take place with the Tyrone side conceding for the third successive match.
Eglinton ran out comfortable winners at Ardmore, with the Bleachgreen side again struggling in all aspects of the game. Junaid Ali (27) and Muhammed Edrees (19) put on 44 for the first wicket, but thereafter it was a tale of woe with a succession of single digit scores seeing them bundled out for 104 - three wickets each for Robbie Millar and Dylan McElhatton, while Jamie Millar picked up two. The modest target proved little trouble as Andy Millar hit 7 fours and 2 sixes in an unbeaten 57 from just 43 balls to seal the eight-wicket win.
Ballyspallen won the clash of the Championship sides, boosted by the timely return from Australia of Graham Kennedy. The former Ireland A player hit five sixes in a top score of 47 in their total of 146 for seven - 24 apiece too for Pushpender Singh and Luke Gilfillan. Graeme McCarter and David Barnard the pick of the Saints attack. The chase never got going as the hosts were dismissed for 91 - four wickets for Kasigo Rapulana and three for Singh to complete a fine all-round performance.
Donemana made it four wins from four as they beat Killyclooney by 20 runs. Gary (42) and William (36) both hit five sixes as they made 143 - three wickets each for Jason Wallace and Andrew Neill, plus two for Timmy Dougherty. Alan Colhoun hit a rapid 44 in the chase, but four wickets for Anuj Jotin proved decisive.
