BREADY BOW OUT OF CUP
Bready’s hopes of a Senior Cup run ended with a seven-wicket loss at Brigade, in another fixture that was rain affected, with the conditions having a major bearing on the result.
“The toss was certainly crucial on Saturday and we lost it,” said former Irish international David Rankin.
“The pitch definitely played better in the second half of the game when it dried out. We lost too many wickets in clusters, and were 50 runs short of where we needed to be at half time. We tried our best but never had enough runs on the board.”
It’s been a mixed start to the season for the Magheramason club who have struggled to get their first-choice side out on the park.
“We still haven't got our strongest squad out due to injuries so hopefully within the next few weeks we can push on in the league, starting with Eglinton on Saturday,” added Rankin.
