Strabane Academy beat Lisneal College by eight wickets in the U13 Slemish Cup final held on Thursday afternoon at the FoyleView Arena.

Lisneal batted first with Fletcher McKeown top-scoring with 47 (5 fours, 2 sixes), while Caleb Boyd made 20 in their total of 150 for 8.

Riley Boyd (3-12) and Oliver Spence (2-17) were the pick of the bowlers.

The Strabane Academy chase got off to a watchful start, with Lisneal keeping the rate in check - 42 for 1 after 8 overs.

The next eight overs though saw the Tyrone side go through the gears as they hit 109 to clinch the trophy.

Riley Boyd hit 8 fours and 9 sixes in his 99 - before being sensationally caught at deep midwicket going for a tenth six that would have sealed the win and his personal milestone.

The second wicket partnership was worth 144 with William McGarrigle (38*).

Strabane Academy will have the chance to collect another trophy when they take on the NCU winners of their U13 tournament later in the month.
