Cricket Leinster's President XI beat MCC Women by 22 runs in the first of their two games at Merrion.

Madeleine Ross claimed a five-wicket haul, while Eleanor Phillips picked up two.
Alice Heap (36) and Elysa Hubbard (26) looked to be leading MCC to victory as they reached 119 for 3, but they collapsed to 136 all out to give Leinster the win.

Anna Beale impressed with 4 for 13, while Zoe Bell completed a fine all-round game by taking 3 for 32. Anna and Zoe are Pembroke teammates. Anna had taken 5 wickets (the 5th off her last delivery) for Pembroke 2s Vs Terenure 1s in their Junior cup match in Pembroke on Sunday afternoon so that completed a good couple of days for her.
The teams meet once again at Anglesea Road today (TUES) at 2pm - the later start time due to the funeral of Peter Prendergast.
