Sunday saw Skanderborg in Køge to play against both the home team and KB in Serie 1 B. In the first match, Køge chose to bat first and had a disastrous start to say the least, losing 5 wickets with just 6 runs on the board. Nicolaj Damgaard with 2 for 2 and Surja Anand with 2 for 23 were the main players. However, Simon Sørensen (37*) held his own and together with Prem Lekshmanan (28*) ensured that Køge finished on 86 after the 20 overs. Skanderborg only lost one wicket by passing, but that was due to Nikolaj Damgaard's 59* with 4 sixes.
The second match in Køge was between Skanderborg and KB, where KB chose to batt first. Unlike against Køge, Skanderborg could not break through KB's opening pair Hamid Shah (92) and Kudakwashe Donald (43) until the 15th over. Nikolaj Damgaard's 4 overs only cost 7 runs, but the other bowlers cost a lot. Skanderborg's Zishan Shah was allowed to bowl against his old club, but Hamid responded by hitting 4 sixes out of a total of 8 in Zishan's first over. Hamid did not reach his century, but was caught with 142 on the board. His successor Saif Ahmad (51) continued in the same vein with 4 sixes, but wickets fell in the last overs and KB ended at 200 for 5.
Skanderborg went for it from the start led by Nikolaj Damgaard (17), but he was bowled in the second over. It was the start of an exodus of batsmen, with Torr Turner (19*) the only one left remaining, while Zishan Shah (33) fell as the seventh wicket. Bashir Shah ended the match with two wickets, as Skanderborg finished on 90.
In Series 1 A, Ishøj's first team visited AB in Bagsværd, where the home team won the toss and went to bat. Ishøj's opening bowlers Atta Ullah (3 for 25) and Pawan Kumar took two wickets in the first two overs and a third in the third over. AB never got over this start and only Jawad Ali (19) and Saim Saeed (21) showed resistance as the team was out for 81. Muhammad Salman with two wickets in his only over and Aftab Ahmed with two wickets helped clean up the mess.
Ishøj lost their opening wickets with only 12 on the board, but Aftab Ahmed (34* off 20 balls) and Delawar Khan (31* off 15 balls) cruised home to the win in the ninth over.
At Svanholm Park, Glostrup were the visitors, won the toss and sent Svanholm to the wicket. Svanholm got off to a good start with 50 on the board after 5 overs, but Musa Mahmood (21) was caught. Abdul Hashmi (44) left with a total of 71, but Mads Henriksen (57*) helped Svanholm finish at 171 for 4, especially with help from Moeez Raza (20*). Glostrup's opening wickets Dinesh Kannan (90) and Sebastian Heath (72) got Glostrup well on their way with a wicket stand of 157 in 18 overs. With 2 overs to go, the team was 14 runs short. A wicket fell in the 19th over, but it also produced 7 runs. Dinesh Kannan was run out on the fourth ball of the last over with two runs for the win. On the 5th ball, Venugopal was run out, so it was up to Ridhin Sharma on the last ball. He hit a four!
With Glostrup's victory over Svanholm, Ishøj and Glostrup now lead Series 1A after 4 matches, while in Series 1B it is Skanderborg and KB who lead.
