Svanholm v Skanderborg

There was an expectation of a top match in advance, but when you saw which team Skanderborg had, some doubts arose. Monty Singh has apparently left the club, there were cancellations from Anders Bülow, Christian Peck and Chris Rasmussen. Kamran Mahmood, Oliver Hald and Torr Turner are also missing compared to last year, while Aftab Ahmed is in Ishøj. Skanderborg had therefore moved up a few second-team players today and again have Andy Lambert with them.

Svanholm is also different compared to last year with several players who have left the club, but the team has won the first two matches. Svanholm won the toss and went to the wicket and got the worst start when Musa Mahmood was caught on the first ball. Skanderborg's Surya Anand and Nikolaj Damgaard put a damper on the start and Nikolaj himself caught Mads Henriksen (7) with 13 on the board.

However, Svanholm got things under control with the help of Abdul Hashmi (75) and Abdullah Mahmood (107*) as Skanderborg's bowling attack weakened. When Abdul was caught on 124, Abdullah was supported by Said Alam (25) and Moeez Raza (43) and Svanholm ended up on 266 for 5 after 50 overs.

Nikolaj Damgaard (37) opened for Skanderborg as usual along with Omar Hayat (12) and was also dominant in scoring. Omar was caught on 46 and Nikolaj was dismissed on 62, but Shangeev Thani (24), Surya Anand (6) and Andy Lamberty (22) could not deliver the major half-century needed to threaten Svanholm. Zishan Shah (31) was left hanging, but none of the subsequent batsmen could contribute much. When Adeel (6) was caught last man, the board showed 179 in the 45th over, giving Svanholm a victory of 87 runs.

AB v Skanderborg

Skanderborg fielded almost the same team as on Saturday, however Per Pedersen came in instead of Andy Lambert. This strengthened the bowling attack a bit.

Skanderborg won the toss and went to the wicket. This time Nikolaj Damgaard (2) was joined in the opening innings by captain Rizwan Mahmood (10), but it was no success. Nikolaj was bowled after 6 balls and Rizwan was caught after a six and a four. The poor start was however erased by Shangeev Thani (60) and Surya Anand (125*), who raised the total to 108, where Shangeev was caught. Zishan Shah (63*) came in and together with Surya raised Skanderborg to the final total of 284 for 3 after 50 overs.

AB also did not get off to a great start with two wickets down for 21, but captain Zaman Chaudary (42) and Mukarram Hussein (89) denied Skanderborg's attempts until Zaman was caught by the keeper at 103. AB continued the match, however, now with Jawad Ali (68) as a partner until Mukarram fell at 215. Hasnain Kiani (34) stepped in and together the total was raised to 240, where Jawad was caught. Hasnain was now joined by Fazal Mohammad (12) and the requirement was now 45 runs off 40 balls.

With two overs left, the requirement had fallen to 13 runs, but Hasnain was caught and Hasan Mirza (0) fell on his first ball from Nicolaj Damgaard. The pressure grew and Mujtaba Mir (1) was run out on the last ball of the over. AB were now 276 for 8 and needed nine runs in the last over. Fazal Mohammad tried and was caught on the third ball. A four was hit on the fifth ball by Amaar Haider (5*), so the requirement was 2 runs on the last ball, but Malik Khan (1) was run out in the attempt on the second run. So Skanderborg won by one run.

KB v Køge

Here Køge chose to go to the wicket first and only two batsmen offered resistance, namely Akbar Uriakhail (64) and Imal Uriakhail (28). The rest had problems playing KB's spinners, especially Bashir Shah who took 4 for 10 in his 10 overs as well as Ehsan Karimi and Saif Ahmad. Køge only reached 128 for all in 44 overs.
Hamid Shah got the scoring going since he came to KB with 50 and Zameer Khan with 43 helped secure the victory by 7 wickets.

Ishøj v Glostrup

Last week, Ishøj got the scoring going with 2 centuries among others and Ishøj therefore chose to go first to the wicket against Glostrup again. Adeel Akhtar (75), Muhammad Salman (43), Luky Malik (30) and Aftab Ahmed (22) all helped secure a total of 274 for 8 after the 50 overs. Glostrup's Venugopal Nagaraj took 3 wickets for Glostrup, but was a costly man with 49 points in 6 overs.

After a reasonable start, it was the partnership between Sebastian Heath (36) and Mudassar Ali (39) that was the crux of Glostrup's innings, but when Aftab Ahmed removed Sebastian as the first of his five wickets, things went downhill for Glostrup. Captain Rajesh Ayyappan (33) held one end until he fell as the ninth wicket, but no one else could stay at the wicket long enough. A final wicket stand of 31 between Shakeel Zeb (18) and Haroon Khan (13*) ensured that Glosrup finished on 193 for all in the 49th over.
