ST JOHNSTON
Captain: David Anthony
Overseas Pro: Michael Rankin....
Players In: Nathan Cole
Players Out: Subhan Shirzad
Young players to watch: Sam Macbeth and Ryan McAuley
St. Johnston heads into the 2025 season after they came agonizingly close last year having finished runners-up in both the league and the Sammy Jeffery Shield.
David Anthony once again leads the Saints into battle, with one major leaving the Boathole and one prodigal son returning to Donegal.
"This season, our aim is to take that final step and push for silverware," said Anthony.
"Nathan Cole returns to the squad, which is a huge boost for us in the bowling department and unfortunately Subhan Shirzad has left for Strabane and we wish him all the best.
"We have a good mix of a youthful squad, who have plenty of experience at this level. Sam MacBeth will be filling the role of Subhan in the batting department after a very successful year for our seconds last year and look forward to bringing another talented young man through the club.
"Ryan McAuley is another to keep an eye on, he has the potential to be a real wicket taking threat in the league with his pace bowling and hope he can kick on after having his first full season under his belt from last year.
"It’s shaping up to be a competitive season, and we’re eager to make our mark."
