The latest leg of CWC League 2 ended yesterday with a damp 12 run DLS win for hosts Namibia over Canada at the Wanderers Cricket Ground in Windhoek.
After a delayed start, Namibia won the toss and chose to bat first. After Zane Green fell for a five ball duck in the first over, Niko Davin and JP Kotze added 72 for the second wicket before Davin was dismissed for 33. JP Kotze was the next man out, just short of his fifty on 48.
That proved to be the highest score of the Namibia innings, though Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton was just short, unbeaten on 47 when the last wicket fell on 186 with one over still to come. Kaleem Sana and Shahid Ahmadzai both took four wickets for the visitors.
Canada's run chase started with openers Yuvraj Samra and Navneet Dhaliwal adding 79. Both openers were caught behind off the bowling of Gerhard Erasmus for 53 and 25 respectively, with number three Pargat Singh also falling to the Namibian captain.

Rain sent the players from the field in the 28th over with Canada on 91-3 and just ahead on DLS. When play resumed, the visitors were set a target of 167 in 43 overs, but they were unable to capitalise on what was a good start as they were bowled out for 154, losing their last five wickets for 14 runs, Erasmus finishing with 4-24.
Despite the loss, Canada remain firmly in the hunt for the four automatic places in the World Cup Qualifier, lying in third place on the table and only two points behind leaders USA. Oman are just behind Canada, whilst Namibia are in fifth place on 14 points but have played at least four more games than every other team.
Scotland are sixth, level on points with Namibia but with nine games in hand. Nepal are seventh - but have been known to make spectacular comebacks in previous tournaments - with UAE bottom of the table with two wins from eleven games.
The next tri-series will be in the Netherlands at the start of May, with Scotland and UAE also involved. Canada will remain in Namibia for a five match T20I series that begins on Tuesday.
