Batting first the much-vaunted Campbell top-order failed to fire against the new-ball attack with Matthew McGonigle, Seb Yeates, and Harry Dyer all dismissed for just a single.

Jacob McClure-Dalzell hit 40 to get Campbell to 118, but it felt well below par at the halfway point.

The main wicket-takers for Ballyclare were Jude Wilson (3-14), Austin Adair (2-5), Evan Carlisle (2-10), and Jacob Scarlett (2-28).

The chase got off to a solid start as Jack Smyth (26) and Jacob Scarlett, helped by a flurry of extras put on 45 for the first wicket to put a dent in the target.

Jacob McClure-Dalzell (2-16) gave Campbell a brief opening, but Finn Lutton’s 35 (4 fours, 2 sixes) got BHS to within 8 of the finishing line, as he added 32 with Jack Morrow (7*).

There was to be no late twist though as Cooper Donnelly struck the winning boundary to secure a deserved five wickets win and a place in next week’s decider.
