Holders RBAI are safely through to the final of the Schools' Cup after a convincing 123-run win over last year's beaten finalists Strabane Academy at Osborne Park.

Batting first, Inst rattled up an imposing 251 for 4 in their 35 overs with half centuries for Tom Crothers (60) and Luka Bates (50), while there were runs too for Adam Leckey (41) and James West (37).

The Strabane Academy reply got off to a disastrous start as their top four were back in the hutch for only a combined total of just three runs.

It was all about damage limitation after that, with Mark Robinson and Ryan McAuley making 22 apiece, with double figure contributions too from Diver and McCrea.

Adam Leckey and James West picked up three wickets each, while Alistair Watt, Ben Walsh and Max Wilmott were also amongst the wickets.

RBAI will meet the winners of Ballyclare High School and Campbell College who are scheduled to meet on Friday (June 7) at Templepatrick.

The final is scheduled for Friday June 14th at Wallace Park, Lisburn.
