DONEMANA AIMING FOR CUP SUCCESS

Another side who have made a strong start to the new season are Donemana, who also have a new captain at the helm in Gary McClintock. Their last senior cup success came in 2020, but with Andy McBrine available after being left out of Ireland’s T20 squads, they will certainly be among the favourites for the cup.

“We have certainly got off to a great start, but we know it's a long season.” said McClintock. “We have to keep focusing hard and take every game as they come. We all know the senior cup means a lot to the club and we will not be taking anything for granted.

“We start in the opening round with a visit to The Nedd, where we know we will be favourtites, and hopefully get into the hat for the next round.

“It’s a real boost for us to have ‘Scra’ (Andy McBrine) available for us, as he’s such an inspiring talent for all of us, making us a different team. Raymond Curry has joined and that century will give him confidence and help him settle in. Our new professional Rumesh Buddhika has also acclimatized quickly and looks a very talented player. On our day we have the beating of anyone, and hopefully we can continue our winning start to the campaign.”
