West Indies finish tour with 6 wicket win
West Indies completed their short tour of Ireland with a 6 wicket win at Malahide in the 3rd ODi on Sunday.
Batting first, Irish openers Cecelia Joyce (38) and Emma Beamish got the irish off to a solid start with an opening stand of 61. From then on however, they lost wickets steadily, and it was down to the efforts of Clare Shillington who hit 54 from 76 balls (5 fours and a six), that they posted 163 for 9 in their 50 overs.
The Irish lost their way against the bowling of Afy Fletcher (4-22), and Anisa Mohammed (3-24), who both were particularly impressive.
In reply Ireland got off to a dream start with the dismissal of Nation, stumped by Jean Carroll off Isobel Joyce for 0, but thereafter it was all West Indies.
Stephanie Taylor hit an unbeaten 66 from 97 balls, as they completed a 6 wicket win. She was given good support by Charlene Taitt (38) and Juliann Nero (17*).
Isobel Joyce (2-45) was the pick of the Irish attack.
