George Dockrell was again the hero in the final as he made it back-to-back hundreds to help Phoenix squeeze out Leinster by five runs in a real thriller. Dockrell showed no mercy on his old Rathmines team-mates as he helped Phoenix recover from 29 for 3 and 104 for 7 to post 178. Dockrell's unbeaten 114 came from only 54 balls and included 11 sixes and 6 fours. He plundered 74 in the last four overs and that was to prove the difference in a tight contest. Younas Ahmadzai (61) and Ben Mitchell (39) put on 68 in the powerplay, but Phoenix's triumvirate of spinners bounced back with three wickets for Dockrell and two apiece for Ben White and Amish Sidhu. It all came down to the last over with six needed from the last three balls. Joey Carroll (28) holed out and Bilal Azhar was run out the next ball trying to get on strike to give Phoenix the five-run win. They will represent Leinster in the All-Ireland semi-finals next month, with the winners of that tournament going on to Spain for a week next April.
