Glendermott duly won the Sammy Jeffrey Shield with a 172-run win over Ballyspallen on another run-filled day at The Rectory - 1170 in total scored over the two days. Resuming with a lead of 238, Glendermott opted to bat again and made 225 - Geeth Kumara making 70 and Ben Mills hitting 6 sixes in a rapid 43. That left Ballyspallen needing 464 and to be fair to Graham Kennedy and Eddie Moore, they didn't die wondering. The pair added 132 in 10 overs for the third wicket, but the fun ended for Moore after a 35-ball 78 (11 fours, 5 sixes). Kennedy went on to make 107 from 58 balls (5 fours, 12 sixes) as 'Spallen made 291. Ben Mills took six wickets to make it ten for the match, but he was pipped to the Man-of-the-Match accolade by Sri Lankan Geeth Kumara on two days to remember for all the Glendermott faithful.
