Jersey got their campaign off to a winning start with an emphatic 69-run win against Nigeria at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Batting first, the Channel Islanders raced out of the traps as openers Nick Ferraby and Harry Carlyon both made 20 apiece as they unleashed a flurry of boundaries with 33 coming from the first two overs.
They never looked back after that superb platform with Ben Stevens hitting 25.
Jonty Jenner and Nick Greenwood (43)then added 81 in 53 balls to take the total to 184 for 4 - well beyond the reach of Nigeria.
Jenner reached his half century from 35 balls, hitting 3 sixes and a four - the second T20I fifty for the talented 21 year-old.
There was a late bonus to the Jersey total with the final delivery being a no-ball which was clubbed for six by Ben Ward - the bowler being taken off for a second full toss above waist height.
Eliott Miles (2-22) struck twice in his first over to but the brakes on a decent Nigerian start, and thereafter it was all about damage limitation for Nigeria.
Lucas Oyede (39) ensured respectability, but with two wickets also for Dominic Blampied (2-24), Jersey cruised to a 69-run win to sit proudly at the top of the table.
There will be sterner tests ahead for Jersey, but on this form they will fancy their chances against any opposition.
