It took just 7.5 overs on the final morning for Afghanistan A to complete a 35 run win over Zimbabwe A in Harare.
Resuming on 208-6, Zimbabwe A added just one run to their overnight score before Yamin Ahmadzai had John Nyumbu caught behind. Three overs later, Mirwais Ashraf took the eighth and ninth wickets in successive deliveries to leave the last Zimbabwe A wicket needing to put on 46 runs.
They could only put on another 10 runs though before Yamin Ahmadzai bowled Luke Jongwe to secure the win. Mirwais Ashraf took 6-35 in that second innings.
The teams will play a second four-day game, also in Harare, starting on Saturday.
