The Jersey Cricket Board is delighted to announce that former Jersey player Tony Carlyon is to be the new Chairman of Selectors, replacing Chris Searson who is standing down but will remain involved on a consultancy basis.

JCB Chairman, Ward Jenner commented, "Tony has been a totally committed Jersey player over 3 decades, and his knowledge of the players means that he will be perfectly placed to undertake the Chairman of Selectors role. He has already proved to be an astute observer and has been highly useful in his role as assistant to Chris Searson. I have no doubt that he will do an excellent job"

Tony Carlyon said, "I am delighted to be given the opportunity to take on the Chairman of Selectors role for Jersey. Having played for Jersey for over 22 years I feel I have enough knowledge to know what it takes to play for Jersey. I still have my finger on the pulse with the current players and watch enough games to make this a smooth handover from the excellent job Chris Searson has done to date. National Coach Neil MacRae and I share very similar views on cricket and I can't wait to get started.
