The Jersey Women's Cricket Association are delighted to announce their squad of 13 women to face Guernsey this coming Sunday 29th June.
The Jersey squad includes 5 new players, one of which is 14 year old Chloe Greechan of Le Rocquier school. This game provides the Jersey women with an ideal opportunity to participate against a good female opposition with all players looking to impress as selection for a women's tournament in Berlin, Germany early August is imminent.
The 25 over game will take place at Grainville from 12 on Sunday.
The teams have met previously last August during a 3 team tournament with Spencer CC however this is the first time a stand alone inter island fixture has taken place. Guernsey have been working throughout the winter developing girls and women's cricket and are strengthened by the return of former development officer Hannah Meecham.
The Jersey women go into this fixture on a high after recently defeating Farmers 3rd XI in the JCB div 2. 45* from Amanda smith and a 5 wicket haul from Flo Copley see the Jersey women favourites going into Sundays fixture.
The Jersey women travel to Guernsey the following weekend to play Guernsey in a return fixture.
With both Islands committed to developing the female game it promises to be a well contested fixture.
