Over 160 young cricketers have been selected for the Development of Excellence Scheme in 2014 which is once again sponsored by NatWest.

The groups include both boys and girls from the ages of 10 to 18 who have been selected to join the programme.

The groups operate in their respective age groups at Langford and Oakfield on Saturdays and Sundays under the supervision of JCB coaches and the programme is led by the National Coach, Neil MacRae.

Chris Minty, Chief Executive Officer of the JCB, said, ' We have already seen the benefit of our coaching development programme with a number of players coming through the system to play for the national side which has enjoyed a very successful two years.'

Jerry Whitsey, Chairman of the Corporate Sustainability Board at NatWest, said, "As the sponsor of the Jersey Cricket Board we are delighted to continue our support of this excellent programme for our young cricketers. Sport development, in particular at a junior level, is a key part of our commitment to community banking."
