At the recent Sussex County Cricket Club awards evening Jonty Jenner won the U16 Player of the Year for 2013 - the first time a player from outside the county to win the award so a major achievement.

As well as enjoying a very successful year at Victoria College and for Jersey, the highlights of his season with the Sussex U16s were innings of 135 v Oxfordshire U17s and 109 v Oxfordshire U16s.

Keith Greenfield, Cricket Performance Manager for Sussex CCC, said "It is great to see a young player come into the system and work hard to improve his game and then deliver some high class performances. He had a huge impact in the U16 team and we look forward to him developing his game further with both Sussex County Cricket Club and the Jersey Cricket Board."

Chris Minty, Chief Executive Officer of Jersey Cricket said, "We are very pleased to hear of Jonty's success in the Sussex programme and hope it will inspire other young Jersey players."
