Bahamas make it two from two, Turks & Caicos start with a win
Day two of the Americas Division Two championship saw the host nation make it two wins out of two after a relatively simple win over Belize at the Haynes Oval.
Batting first, the Bahamas made 149 from their 20 overs, losing their final wicket from the last ball of the innings. Jonathan Barry top scored for them with 37, whilst Andrew Banner and Kenroy Roca both took three wickets for Belize.
Belize struggled in reply, with only two batsman able to reach double figures. Jagnauth Jagroo took 3-9 as Belize were bowled out for just 86 to lose by 63 runs.
In the afternoon match, the Turks & Caicos Islands played their first match of the tournament, with Panama batting first and scoring 170-7 from their 20 overs. Mark Henry was the pick of the bowlers with 3-23.
The Turks & Caicos reply started well with an opening partnership of 87, which ended when Nuwan Bodhinayake was dismissed for 49. Slightly behind the rate after 15 overs, this soon changed with the introduction of Sabutan John, who smashed 41 from just 15 balls to take his team to a five wicket win with just one ball to spare.
Thursday's matches will see Panama take on Argentina and Belize play the Turks & Caicos Islands.
