The first round of the new National Cup will have two winners as early as 10 o' clock tomorrow.

Following Oakhill's withdrawal from the competition giving Eglinton a bye, Dundrum are having to resort to a bowl-out to get a result in their home tie with Rush.

Following the incessant rain over the past week, their ground is totally waterlogged leaving a bowl-out as the only option.

As in the trend in recent years, it will be conducted remotely over the phone, with five bowlers from each team assembling at their respective grounds with a neutral umpire co-ordinating the events.

This inventive method was first used in the second round Ulster Cup tie between Ardmore and Carrickfergus back in 2005, and has been commonplace in Irish cup competitions since that time.
