NatWest has recently agreed a new two-year sponsorship agreement with the Jersey Cricket Board (JCB).
NatWest has been the long term sponsor of cricket in Jersey and this new two year agreement demonstrates the ongoing commitment and support to the development of cricket in the Island at all levels. With NatWest's support the JCB has established a strong presence within the ICC European Cricket Championships since becoming an affiliated member of the International Cricket Council in 2005 and an associated member in 2007.
Additionally, the JCB are delighted to announce NatWest will sponsor the new Development of Excellence Scheme. The scheme is being introduced to support the development of the best young cricketers and coaches in Jersey to prepare them to represent Jersey at International and European Tournaments.
Jerry Whitsey, Chairman of the Corporate Sustainability Board for NatWest, said: "As a community bank it is a privilege to play our small part towards the individual and team achievements of our hardworking talented sportsmen and women. It is extremely encouraging and a great tribute to the organisation of the Jersey Cricket Board to witness the continued growth of cricket in the Island. We are particularly delighted that through our sponsorship the JCB can deliver a development and coaching scheme for talented young cricketers to represent Jersey."
Chris Minty, Chief Executive Officer of the JCB said, "The JCB is committed to developing cricket in the Island at all levels and at a time when central support for sport is under great pressure NatWest's continued sponsorship is crucial. Without NatWest we would not be in a position to provide our new development and coaching scheme through which we aim to support our young cricketers. In order to remain competitive in ICC World and European cricket it is vital that we continue to produce competent cricketers and NatWest's support for this scheme will enable us to continue the good work."
