Jersey beat Nigeria!

The young Jersey side defeated Nigeria in another tight match today.

Jersey bowled first in a match reduced to 40 overs and, despite conceding some extras managed to bowl Nigeria out for 110 in 32 overs.

James Faudemer (4 for 25), Ben Stevens (3 for 12) and Anthony Kay (3 for 27) proved to be too good for the Nigerian batsmen.

Nigeria's opening bowlers bowled quick and straight and the dismissals of Ed Farley, Peter Gough, Ben Stevens and Ben Silva saw Jersey reeling at 17 for 4. A solid partnership of 54 put together by Corey Bisson and Dean Morrison put Jersey back on track before Bisson was caught having made an important 22. The experience of Dean Morrison who finished with 59 not out and the Man of the match award saw Jersey home with just over an over to spare.

Jersey need to beat Fiji tomorrow and hope for some favourable results from the other matches in order determine the final matches and possible placings.
