In a very closely contested match at the Achimota Field A, Gambia was able to push the Seychelles extremely hard! In a much improved performance, the Gambian bowling put early pressure on the batting of the Seychelles. Mybe Dumbya struck with the first ball of the match, clean bowling Krishnasamy Naidoo for a duck.

Further pressure saw the Seychelles ship flounder as they lost their third, fourth, fifth and sixth wickets for no runs. They were at the end of the eighth over 31 for 6. The very desperate situation was "rescued" by cool headed, captain Sundesh Kunder(18) and Arvind Bhuva(10). The Seychelles were eventually bowled out for 85 in the 18th over.

Pick of the Gambian bowlers was strike bowler Mbye Dumbe who ended with 3 for 12 in his allotment. Some committed fielding added to the bowlers ability to contain the Seychelles batters to only 85.

This seemed to be enough for the first timers at the ICC Regional events. In an exciting run chase the Gambians seems to have everything under control in the pursuit of the modest target. It was in the fourth over that they lost their first wicket for 14. a middle order catastrophe saw the Gambians peg themselves back substantially. This was due to a extraordinary four wickets in four balls by Arvind Bhuva, he ended with a return of 5 for 8 in his 4 overs.

The Gambians soon found themselves been bowled out in the penultimate over a mere 15 run short of an epic win. Stars of the run chase was Aniru Conteh (19) and Gabriel Njie (17).
