Farmers-Caesareans' impressive batting display led them to the top of the NatWest Indoor League Division 1 with an 18-run win over Armchair Cricket Club this week. Farmers batted first at Fort Regent and set an impressive total of 115 to put the pressure on Armchair CC. James Perchard top scored with 36 runs. Despite a 28-run stand from Sam Ward and a top score of 33 from Nigel Crocker, Armchair were eventually bowled out on 97. Farmers are now top of Division 1, a point ahead of JJCA 1 while Optimus are left languishing at the bottom of the table.
In Division II, Dave Dawson took three wickets for just five runs in a dominant bowling display, allowing Farmers Caesareans Juniors to dismiss Centurions for 19 in less than five overs. They responded with a quick 22 runs to win by six wickets. Pentagon stayed top of the division beating Jersey Seniors by 14 runs thanks to excellent innings from Karl Le Fevre and Simon Hayward - Hayward hitting 34 runs and Le Fevre hitting 33 on the way to a score of 143. Peter Glennon led the run chase for Seniors with 31 runs but the Seniors ran out of overs.
Matt Cox hit an unbeaten half century as Infrasoftech Walkovers B cruised to victory over Sloggers in Division III. Simon Pugsley added 25 runs as Walkovers scored 153. The league leaders extened their advantage at the top of the table as Sloggers were dismissed in 8.3 overs for 70 runs in reply.
