Farmers squeeze home in rain-hit CI League
Farmers-Caesareans secured a thrilling last-ball victory over Barclays Wealth Emerging Players on Saturday, the only fixture to be completed in a rain-hit NatWest Channel Islands League.
Chasing 126 in 27 overs at Port Soif, Meeku Patidar saw Farmers home to a 3-wicket victory with one ball to spare, finishing with an unbeaten 46 from 45 deliveries.
18-year old James Faudemer, recently selected to represent Jersey in the upcoming inter-insular, had earlier starred for Farmers with the ball, picking up 4 for 24 with his left-arm spin. Fellow teenager Corey Bisson also took 3 wickets whilst Guernsey captain Jeremy Frith top-scored for the Emerging Players with 33.
The win sees Farmers pick up a maximum 40 points and marks their third victory in the competition.
Elsewhere, average points will be applied to each of the other washed-out CI League fixtures.
