Whilst the Caribbean T20 didn't go too well for Canada, with two nine wicket defeats and a washed out game, but it did for one associate player - Lennox Cush of the USA.

Playing for Guyana, he finished as the tournament's leading wicket taker with eleven wickets at an average of 12.45 as Guyana won the tournament to qualify for the Champions League in South Africa in September.

Forming a useful spin partnership with Devendra Bishoo, Cush took two four wicket hauls in the two first round matches played by Guyana (the third being rained off). He took a career best 4-25 against the Windward Islands and then 4-30, including a hat-trick, against the Combined Campuses and Colleges.

In the semi-final against Trinidad & Tobago, he took 1-35, whilst in last nights final against Barbados he took 2-47as Guyana won a thriller by winning by one wicket with one ball to spare.

Cush will now head to Italy for WCL Division Four in two weeks time in good form. How his bowling will fare on the artificial wickets in Bologna remains to be seen, but he will be, as always, the key player for the USA in the tournament.
