Jersey's Under-11s have just returned from a tour to the UK, a trip that saw them play matches as part of the Under-11 Development programme.

The squad's first fixture, against a strong side from South Wiltshire Cricket Club, was their first competitive match as a team and Jersey put in a spirited performance in the field. Jack Burt picked up 2 wickets whilst Edward Giles and Jonathan Heward took one each, South Wiltshire making 198 for 4.

In reply, Jersey's innings was somewhat disappointing with poor shot selection and a reluctance to defend undermining their effort. George Moore top-scored with 18 but Jersey could only manage a total of 46, albeit against stronger bowling than they'd seen before.

The second match was played at the new county ground in the Isle of Wight and saw a much improved performance by the Jersey team. The Isle of Wight scored 167 for 7 as Jersey's bowlers excelled, Kai Herridge, Harrison Carlyon and Jonathan Heward taking 2 wickets each.

George Moore then top-scored again, opening the batting and scoring 49 out of Jersey's total of 137. He was well supported by David Bourne (10) and Jonathan Heward (16).

The third match against Dorset was due to be played at the picturesque Milton Abbey ground, a beautiful setting, but unfortunately rain prevented any play.

Instead, a series of indoor matches against Dorset was arranged, providing some great cricket and some Jersey victories too!

The Under-11 squad were accompanied on their tour by manager Chris Minty and coaches John Borg and Lee Meloy.
