The eastern province of Ningarhar beat Heart by 122 runs in a match that has seen the tournament's first century, by Ningarhar's Zamir Khan who scored 135 and took 5 wickets that earned him the man of the match title.
Ningarhar won the toss and elected to bat first. They had a strong beginning and openers managed to stay at the crease for 12 overs scoring 88 runs before their first wicket fell to Heart. Their second wicket fell in the 21st over when with the score on 128 and the third wicket fell with the score on 178 in the 29th over. Ningarhar was 271 for 5 in the 41st over marching toward a huge target for Heart.
They cared less for the wickets in the last five overs trying to reach the highest score of the tournament. Nangarhar lost all their wickets in 49.1 overs scoring 341 runs proving to its huge fan base back in Ningarhar that is one of the favourites for the semi finals from Group B.
Heart in response tried to stay in the tournament. They had a good start by scoring 62 for 1 wicket in 11th over. However they lost two quick wickets in the subsequent 9 overs having scored 112 runs.
Heart tried chasing the highest score of the tournament so far, but in their attempt lost 6 wickets when it was on 204 runs in the 39th over. They lost all its wickets for 219 runs in 42 overs losing to Ningarhar by 122 runs.
The run rate will decide who will play the match tomorrow. The three winners of Group B are Laghman, Paktika, and Nagarhar. The team with highest run rate will proceed to the quarter finals and the other two will play off tomorrow for the right to play with that team in the quarter finals.
