The 2009-10 Argentine domestic season officially reached its pinnacle over the weekend with the culmination of league matches. The big prize, the First Division Championship, was clinched by Lomas after a resounding final day victory over St.George's. Meanwhile, Belgrano claimed the Saturday Championship, for Second Division teams, by defeating Belgrano Barbarians at Virrey del Pino.

Going in to the final fixture, St.George's carried a 2 point advantage into their home tie against Lomas at the College campus, thus it was a simple equation of whoever won the game won the championship.

Lomas batted first and compiled a useful 193 in their 45 overs, Martin Siri top-scoring with 41. In reply, St.George's were never able to mount a meaningful challenge against some good Lomas bowling, led by skipper Billy MacDermott, with 3 for 12 in 6 overs, and were eventually all out for 124, thus giving Lomas victory by 69 runs, and thereby the First Division crown.

All that remains on the official fixture calendar now are the Super Cup games, for First Division teams, between Lomas (First Division champions) and Belgrano (Robin Stuart Shield champions), and for Second Division teams, Old Georgians (Second Division champions) against Belgrano (Saturday Championship champions), to be played later in April.
