The Hills powered to an 82-run victory over Adamstown after Nathan Rooney’s brilliant century laid the foundations for an imposing total of 305 for eight.

The visitors were in early trouble at 13 for two and later 78 for four, with the top order struggling to build momentum. Rooney then transformed the innings with a superb 101 from only 61 balls, striking 14 fours and four sixes.

He shared a crucial partnership with Andrew Kavanagh, whose composed 63 from 82 deliveries helped The Hills recover strongly. Matthew Weldon added 35 before Febin Manoj and Kevin Heuvel supplied a spectacular finish.

Manoj struck an unbeaten 17 from nine balls, while Heuvel smashed two sixes in an undefeated seven-ball 15 as The Hills surged beyond 300. Prabhanshu Kamal was Adamstown’s most successful bowler with two for 46.

Adamstown began their chase positively through Angad Bawa, who hammered 41 from 26 balls, including eight fours and a six. Kamal added 28, but regular wickets prevented the home side from maintaining the required rate.

Prashanth Prabhu kept Adamstown interested with an excellent 65 from 61 deliveries, striking four fours and four sixes. However, his dismissal at 178 for six effectively ended the contest.

Shreyas Rajesh remained unbeaten on 26, but the lower order offered limited resistance as Adamstown were dismissed for 223.

Yaseen Sherzad led the attack with four for 39, while Cian Nulty and Tomas Rooney Murphy claimed two wickets apiece to complete a convincing victory.
