Donemana moved firmly into North West Premiership title contention after completing a second maximum-points victory in as many days with a crushing 188-run demolition of second-placed Fox Lodge.

Azim Kazi produced the defining performance, hammering 115 from only 80 balls as Donemana amassed 292 for nine from a rain-reduced 45 overs before dismissing the Ballymagorry side for just 104.

Donemana lost Luke Marillier early and were 38 for two when Joe Robinson departed, but Raymond Curry steadied the innings with 41.

Overseas professional Kazi then seized control with a spectacular assault containing 10 fours and nine sixes. He added 106 for the fourth wicket with captain Andy McBrine, whose patient 24 helped provide the platform for the acceleration.

Ricky-Lee Dougherty finished unbeaten on 28 including three sixes, while Dwayne McGerrigle smashed four maximums in a nine-ball 25 as Donemana plundered valuable late runs.

Levi Kerr was the pick of the Fox Lodge attack with five for 71, while Jamie McIntyre claimed two early wickets and Alastair Doherty took two in the final over.

Fox Lodge’s reply was in trouble from the outset when Sri Lankan professional Gayan Maneeshan fell to the second ball. Aaron Heywood and Jason Milligan also departed cheaply before Alastair Doherty’s 25 briefly steadied the innings.

Charlie Simpson struck five fours in a rapid 22 and captain Jonny Robinson made 28, but no substantial partnership developed.

Melvin Devaraj removed Maneeshan, Doherty and Raymond Harpur to finish with three for 23, while Marillier returned excellent figures of three for 14. Mark Averill and Kazi collected two wickets apiece.

Fox Lodge were bundled out in only 26.2 overs, leaving Donemana celebrating another emphatic win and gathering serious momentum at a crucial stage of the title race.

Newbuildings are still in the driving seat but now have two Tyrone sides waiting for any slip ups in the final weeks of the campaign.

Still a lot to play for!
