Brigade won the Premiership’s mid-table battle after cruising to a seven-wicket victory over Bready.

Bready never recovered from a succession of wickets and were dismissed for 138, despite useful contributions from Josh van Heerden, Kenzie Hall and Kyle Magee.

Hall struck 26 from 34 balls, including two fours and a six, but Ryan Macbeth removed Suyesh Kumar and David Rankin cheaply to leave Bready struggling at 31 for two.

Van Heerden attempted to rebuild the innings with a lively 44 from 41 deliveries, hitting three fours and three sixes. He added 61 with Magee, who made 21, before both fell with the score on 110.

That opened the door for Brigade’s bowlers, with Scott Macbeth claiming three for 12 and Iftikhar Hussain taking two for seven. Andy Britton and Ryan Macbeth also collected two wickets apiece as Bready’s final six wickets fell for only 28 runs.

Brigade made steady progress in reply, with David Barr and Gavin Roulston sharing a 59-run opening partnership.

Roulston struck five fours and a six in his 36 from 39 balls, while Barr provided the anchor with 33 from 66 deliveries. Van Heerden removed Roulston and James Smallwoods, before Hall dismissed Barr with the score on 88.

However, Brigade were never seriously threatened. Adam McDaid and Scott Macbeth both finished unbeaten on 32, adding an unbroken 52 for the fourth wicket.

Macbeth’s 32 came from just 26 balls and included three fours and two sixes as Brigade reached their modest target in 29 overs to complete a convincing victory.
